Small Capital Grants
Communities of Faith may apply for small capital grants to cover emergency repairs, or projects such as carpet replacement, mould abatement, upgrading lighting efficiency, technology and audio-visual equipment, etc.; especially when the grant may permit the church to qualify for government funding.
- The UPFund will support up to 80 per cent of the project costs to a maximum of $10,000. Roof replacement will be funded to a maximum of 25 per cent/$10,000.
- Communities of Faith are eligible for up to $10,000 in grants (combined ministry or capital grants) in a 12-month period.
- A project will receive only one grant from the UPFund.
- To be eligible, projects that have previously received a UPFund grant must be completed and an evaluation form must be submitted. Outstanding loans must be paid up-to-date.
- Available funds may be limited, and an application does not guarantee that your project will be selected.
- Preference will be given to first-time applicants and applicants that have not received grants in the past 12 months.
- Ineligible expenditures include (but are not limited to):
- regular repair and maintenance projects (i.e. furnace, roof, elevator repair). New or upgraded equipment may be eligible, particularly if the project improves environmental efficiency or accessibility.
- Consultancy fees, studies, permits, etc., related to structural repairs or redevelopment projects.
- Expenses related to the repair or maintenance of a Manse or other non-church buildings.
Contact your Community of Faith Liaison for more information.
An evaluation form must be submitted for all completed projects.
