Communities of Faith may apply for grants to support new and innovative ministry initiatives, projects that may not qualify for other sources of funding, or existing ministry projects that would be enhanced by an injection of funds.
Applications are due October 31.
Communities of Faith will be asked to provide an accountability report of how the funds have been used and their impact.
- The UPFund will support up to 80 per cent of the project costs, to a maximum of $5,000.
- Communities of Faith are eligible for up to $10,000 in grants (combined ministry or capital grants) in a 12-month period.
- Multi-year projects may be considered for additional funding for a period of up to three consecutive years. Applications that indicate such can be approved in principle in the project’s first year. Funding amounts for years two and three are not guaranteed (subject to the availability of funds). An annual progress report must be submitted to receive additional funds.
- To be eligible, any outstanding grant projects must be completed an evaluation form received, and/or any loans must be paid up-to-date.
- Available funds may be limited, and an application does not guarantee your project will be selected.
- Preference will be given to first-time applicants and applicants that have not received grants in the past 12 months.
- Funding will not be provided for core functions of the church (i.e. pastoral care, stewardship, Sunday School, music, administration, etc.) or regular salary or benefits (i.e. Minister, youth minister, office administrator).
However, incremental staff costs related to the project may be eligible (i.e. Minister moving from 0.5 FTE to 0.75 FTE).
Contact your Community of Faith Liaison for more information.
An evaluation form must be submitted after your approved project is complete.
